Geoffrey

Under Exchange 2000 we technically do not have an Internet Mail Service,
what we have is an SMTP Virtual Server, if you look under the server in
the Exchange System Manager, you will see the Protocols container, in
the Protocols contain you should then see SMTP and then you will see the
"Default SMTP Virtual Server", you can make certain configuration
chances here, and if you need more flexibility you could add an SMTP
Connector to your environment.

Hello All,

I have been trying to configut Exchange 2000 server and have tried to
install the Internet Mail Service. I recieve an error saying that there
is already an Internet Mail Service installed on the server but there is
no service and it does not exist in the connections tree or anywhere
else in the Administrator program. As well I am not seeing the Internet
Mail Service running in the control panel services window. Please Help.
