I haven't actually used it for blacklist filtering and such yet. My main
reason for purchasing was to eliminate acceptance of mail from invalid internal
users. I block an average of 1400 messages/day of junk coming in for
non-existent users. These messages would quickly fill up the smtp queue as
exchange would try to send a NDR to the sender, which in most cases is spoofed.
With ORF, the mail gets rejected before the senders mail server hangs up, not
when Exchange gets around to deciding it's a bad address.

I echo that, best $100 we spent as well... We were fighting a ton of spam each
day through a desktop product and a product on the server. ORF is great,
including the ability to sync with AD so it will block anyone whose name isn't
in the list. When we installed the product it cut off 40% of our email which
was spam, the rest our other product on the server checks the 60% and stops any
that it misses. One of the biggest problems is that a lot of the comacst.net
servers are blocked by one of the blacklists so you have to be careful if you
have a lot of external mail coming from there.

That looks like a nice solution, and cheap.

We purchased ORF (http://www.vamsoft.com). Best $100 we've ever spent.
