That still shows only the display name, not the SMTP address. Part of
the problem is that Outlook always translates an address into a display
name, if one is available. On an Exchange system, there is always a
display name, so that is what Outlook shows. I was hoping someone would
know a workaround or registry hack.

Cant you configure outlook to show the "to" field in the inbox. That way
you can see who its from, who its sent to, the subject, date, favourite
colour etc
