ISP SMTP server

Dear All,
How are you. I have DSL modem and I want to connect my exchange server
to the internet. using a Connector I have put my ISP (which i have hosting
of my domain "abc.net" on it) I have put the ISP Smtp server which is
mail.abc.net. I put mail.abc.net in the smarthost in the connector area
and for the adress space I put *. but I couldn't send any mail to any
place out to the internet.
can you tell me what is missing in my configuration.
