Hi Carl,

When you install IMF for the first time it sets the SCL for both junk mail and
gateway blocking to 4. So are you saying that I should up the gateway blocking
to 5 or 6 and leave the junk email at 4?

I will have a look at the Archive Manager. Thanks!

Regards,
Andrew

I stated several days ago that SP2 might not be a good idea for those depending
on the IMF to work properly.

I was asked for explanation, provided it, and haven't heard diddly since...
Yours is another example of how things have changed.

OTOH you should never have both SCL thresholds set to the same number. The
threshold for "gateway blocking" should always be higher than the one for
"store junk".

I would suggest you turn gateway blocking off or set it to archive messages so
you can use the archive manager to examine and resubmit valid messages to
users. Of course that could take a lot of time, but at least the archive
manager makes it easy. The archive manager is here:

When you install IMF it defaults the SCL values to 4. So when before SP2
everything was running hunky dory and both SCL values were 2. After SP2 I have
had nothing but problems with employees complaining that other companies they
deal with an a regular basis emails aren't getting through, etc. Even a company
I do work from MoveLine.ca emails are being rejected with IMF.

So I have set IMF to 4, restarted SMTP server, even tried to restart the whole
server. Emails are still getting rejected, so I set IMF to 8, fewer emails are
being rejected but it's only when I turn IMF off all together do the emails get
through.

Could Microsoft have buggered up IMF with SP2? I am not even running SecureID.

Thanks
Andrew
