No - We are blocking port 143 so it will not work. It does not work internally even when we do uncheck 'require SSL' though. I have a few issues. Any info is much appreciated. Info - Running Exchange 2003 in FE/BE scenario. FE Servers are Network Load Balanced with Forms Based Authentication BE Servers are two Active/Passive Clusters I have enabled IMAP in Exchange on both the FE and BE servers as well as set the IMAP service to Automatic (and started) - On the FE servers, I have 'require SSL' under the Authentication requirements - Port 993 is open on the external firewall to the FE server IP On the BE servers, I have not required SSL in the Authentication Requirements ( What I have read indicates this should not be selected) Results - - I can connect via IMAP when connected on the internal network over port 143 directly to the Backend Server. Port 993 does not work (and shouldnt...) - I can NOT connect via IMAP when connected on the internal network over port 993 when specifying our OWA server address (owa.globalknowledge.com) - I can NOT connect via IMAP from outside the internal network over port 993 when specifying our OWA server address (owa.globalknowledge.com) Once again, port 993 is allowed on the firewall and all services are configured and running. What am I missing? The Outlook client connection errors that I am getting are: Task 'Checking for new mail in subscribed folders on owa.globalknowledge.com.' reported error (0x800CCC0E) : 'Outlook is unable to download folder (null) from the IMAP e-mail server for account owa.globalknowledge.com. Error: Unable to connect to the server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' Task 'owa.globalknowledge.com: Folder:Inbox Check for new mail.' reported error (0x800CCC0E) : 'Outlook is unable to download folder Inbox from the IMAP e-mail server for account owa.globalknowledge.com. Error: Unable to connect to the server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'
