How to configure Exchange to send mail to-from another server

Exchange Newbie...
I have a site on my SOHO that I run a w2k web server w/apache, mysql, and
php on. I also have e2k running on this same private network, but on a
different server. I've added a forum to my site, which is on the w2k web
server, and I'm having trouble sending mail from this board/server. I've
been advised that I need to add another mail server or something that'll
allow me to send mail from this web server server. My question is is this
possible to do this with exchange? Can I configure exchange to send mail
from the forum on my web server or would I have to install a seperate mail
server on this web server?
Any response is appreciated...
