Working like a charm now. EX2k on W2k Standard Server. Postmaster Public
Folder with retention set at 14 days. Will monitor size and
reduce/increase as necessary.

Did the following.
1. Ensured that SP3 was indeed on the exchange box.
2. Applied reghack at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;812806
3. Restarted IS
4. Killed my postmaster user + his mailbox.
5. Forced replication across my domain servers (native AD, and I'm
inpatient).
6. Purged postmaster mailbox.
7. Gave my PF the postmaster's SMTP addresses.
8. Cursed because I was still receiving the NDR's.
9. Found out I had SMTP NDR's being forwarded to Administrator (which
forwards to me.) Changed it to the PF's SMTP address. Restarted SMTP vs.
10. Marvel at the knowledge presented in this list.

After making the reg hack, make sure you restart the Information Store
Service.

Apply the reg hack mentioned in this article and then give it a try:

Hi
Has anyone actually got this to work. ie: sending NDRs directly to a
Public
Folder in Exchange Server 2003, or even sending it from a mailbox to a
Public Folder.?
You can't send NDRs to a DL.
You can send email directly into a Public Folder but not via any other
sources.?

I have been struggling with this since last week re NDRs.

Cheers

Great. Now have any of you successfully forwarded the postmaster emails
(NDR) to a public folder? Seems that I cant. Although the folder is mail
enabled, I can send to it via normal email from inside and
outside..weird,
just weird.

Good ol' distribution groups. I forgot about that! Thank you!
