Should would be cool if postings could be rejected when an Exchange version
is not included.

You need a mail enabled contact.
Or perhaps a custom recipient.
Depending on which version of Exchange you're using.

Subject: [exchangelist] How do I redirect to an outside email address?

I'd like to add an email address that is not part of my domains to a
distribution group. How can I do that?

In general, how can I alias a local email address to an address from a
different domain, like a yahoo.com address or whatever a contractor may use?

Thanks a lot!
