Guys, We have the ArcServe agent for Exchange, the issue is that for a particular day my collegue had changed the passwords for the accounts and hence it failed to perform the brick level backup.. but I am sure that the insformation store would still have been nacked up... and now I have to restore one mailbox for a particular day of a user...so there is the issue os rebuilding the entire AD and a new exchange server. Going through the whitepaper on the E2kServer recovery initiated the idea to go ahead with this venture. I do have a little more than my hands full now with these thrills I guess.. but please help me and wish me luck as well.. I use Veritas Backup Exec with the Exchange Server Agent You can perform an online backup the entire exchange organisation with it. It also allows you to restore individual Mailboxes. -----Original Message----- From: Joel Mansford [mailto:Joel.Mansford@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 05 February 2002 17:13 To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Help Please!!!! http://www.MSExchange.org/ I recently wanted to do something similar, whereby I had the information store backed up, in fact I still had the Log files and database files all I wanted to do was restore it to a different AD. I had no luck. Ideally I'd have like a program which can read the database files and allow the extraction of mailboxes from it, has anyone heard of such a thing? When I re-installed exchange, I couldn't get exchange to mount the old database files, it'd just complain about the DB being inconsistent. Good Luck! And if you find anything please let me know as I still have old mail I need to get! Joel. -----Original Message----- From: Lacaille, Michael [mailto:MLacaille@xxxxxxxx] Sent: 05 February 2002 17:08 To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Help Please!!!! http://www.MSExchange.org/ I have not done this, but we have just recently helped another Exchange administrator on site implement Tivoli back up for our server. From what I understand about restoring the IS, is that it would need to be put on a server that is identical to the existing server. I hope that someone else who has more experience, can assist you with this issue. Good luck! -----Original Message----- From: Muqeem Syed [mailto:Syed.Muqeem@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, February 05, 2002 11:39 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Help Please!!!!
