The GAL uses the Display Name from Active Directory to define the order
they
are listed, by default AD creates the display name using FirstName
LastName,
so you will need to do a couple of things:

1. Change a setting in AD so it uses the LastName FirstName format for
new
users, here is a link that explains how this can be done:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;250455

2. You will now have to change the format of the existing users in AD,
the
best way of doing this is to use ADModify, you can get this from
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/PSS/Tools go into the Exchange Support Tools
directory and you should then see the ADModify directory, download it
and
you can make bulk changes to objects in your AD.

Hope this helps

Subject: [exchangelist] Get rid of contacts list

http://www.MSExchange.org/
In Outlook when you click on the "To" button, we many list IE: Global
Address, Contacts, All Contacts. I would like to get rid of the lists
except
for the GAL and Contacts.
Does anyone know how to do this?
