[ExchangeList] Global Address List Not Updating Possibly Gone After Migration from Exchange 2003 to 2007

After migrating from Exchange 2003 to 2007 we decommissioned the last Exchange 2003 server.
Since then Outlook users get an error message “object cannot be found” when they try and download
\Global Address List.
I think the global address list was probably on the public folder of the last Exchange 2003 server and was lost.
Can this be recreated on a 2007 server?
