It checks emails passing through the smpt server and checks them from the
domain address space.

I realize that, that is precisely my question...

There are NO mailboxes on IIS5 SMTP server.

SO, how does the licensing work there?

Is it looking at recipients or do they use the honor system when its not on
Exchange?

Okay if I load MAIL ESSENTIALS on an IIS5 SMTP relay server, does it count
how many mailboxes it is sending to?

Would this only apply to exchange server installations?

Anyone?!
