We just implemented GFI ME 9.0. We evaluated for 3 months, and we use
only the Bayesian and Header checking to block items. The Bayesian is
very effective, we block about 5000 spasm a day, and get may be 1 false
positive a day. And most of these falses are like News subscriptions,
weather updates etc. Hence we are not really having any big problems. We
block nearly 97% of the spams. As and when we get newer spams that pass
through, we train the Bayesian to learn the new spam, and it always
works. The auto white list feature reduces the false possitives to a
great extent. GFI ME is value for the money and does a great job
overall.

Thanks John, the company wants to avoid false positives at all cost so
this info is very useful to me.

Although some may consider my opinion biased, for a small company, a 3rd
party hosting service acting as a MS gateway and doing virus and spam
scanning and actions there is a better value.

Having said that, I did do a trial of Mail Essentials and found it to be
good in the basic sense, but the included generic lists catch too many
legits creating false positives.
