Yes you are correct, this is by design. However as you may know this is
a permissions issue. If you give the self permission the correct rights
to "write' those attributues, he\she can enter that information in. Now
to do this in bulk you can use Admodify, query all users, and give self
the permissions. The permisions would be security tab, "write phone
mail" "write general info" etc. Not exactly sure which permissions it
was to allow to write company but it was one in that list.

Hi,
 
Using GALmod can i allow users to update even "Country" & Company"
fields also (Other fields can be updated without any isues). I know by
default it is not possible for normal users. But is there any other safe
methods to achieve this. 
 
I use exchange 2003 sp1 on windows 2003 sp1.
