Ken, Have you checked the - Global Settings - Message Delivery - SMTP Virtual Server - Message - Size limit Remember, Exchange 2003 sets the global limit to 10MB by default. I have tried many different types of files and non will make the trip so it isn't dependant upon word. I changed the editor to Rich Text and the error now shows as an outlook error, not word. The body of the message is still the same. It does not matter where the email is trying to be sent. The error message is happening as soon as you press send. The email stays open and your only choices are to close/save or close/delete it. We have 2 Exchange servers 1 2K and the other the 2003 Advanced. It is users on the Advanced 2003 that are fully restricted. The E2K accounts can send them off, however as John said, it does take a long time for delivery even internally. Are you sending this to in internal or external recipient? The message fails immediately after you click send or after a while ? How many Exchange servers do you have ? On the exchange the group and user are both unset limits on the size of files. It does come up as a MS Word error report if that helps? It sounds like the restriction is at user level rather than SMTP level. Regards, Raj _____ From: KEN MORRIS [mailto:Ken.Morris@xxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, September 30, 2004 12:40 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] File restrictions on 10+ Mb? http://www.MSExchange.org/ Hello, We have just installed a new 2003 Exchange Advanced server. The problem being that we cannot send any attachments that are 10Mb or more. I have looked at all of our settings and there appear to be no restrictions on the size for the email being sent out. The error reads: Microsoft Word The message being sent exceeds the message size established to this user. Any suggestion?
