Try to use

Domainname/username (not email address)

For example mybigdomain/jsmith

Hello,

Try having the user logon with user@domain. Where: domain is your windows
domain name.

Bill

Hi,

I got new details about my problem...

Yesterday I did some new test, unsuccessfully, but I saw a new error message

In the security event log I have an audit failure.

Ok the things is the laptop I'm trying to connect to my pop3 is not a part of
my domain

And when I'm trying to connect to the pop3 I don't know why the laptop tries to
authenticate him with his own user account (the one I'm log in), not the
account I told him to take through my pop3 configuration.

I hope I'm clear

Any idea???

Thanks

Francis

hi have a problem with my pop3 & my IMAP4 server s
when i test the connection
the send test e-mail message failed

i'm using

Server
Windows 2003 SP1
Exchange 2003 SP2
and ISA server like firewall

Client
Windows XP SP2
Outlook 2003

what i tried (configuration in outlook for POP3)

i use SPA
in the more settings
in outgoing server
i tried
without anything doesn't work

with: my outgoing server requires authentication and log on to incoming mail
server before sending mail doesn't work

with: my outgoing server requires authentication and use same settings as my
incoming mail server doesn't work

with: my outgoing server requires authentication log using ... with SPA doesn't
work

in the advanced tab server ports both are SSL

when i do a test in outlook this is the result

establish network connection completed
find outgoing mail server (SMTP) completed
find incoming mail server (POP3) completed
log onto incoming mail server (POP3) completed
send test e-mail message failled

error message
send test e-mail message: outlook could not connect to the outgoing mail server
(SMTP). The problem could be your SSL port settings for the outgoing server.
Verify your port and SSL settings under More Settings on the Advanced tab.

my port in outlook are corresponding to the port on my server...

Does somebody have an idea how to troubleshoot my problem???

Thanks

Francis
