Hello everyone, My apologies for sending out this request for info yesterday. I'm sure the topic has been beaten into the ground in past discussions. However, looking at the Exchange.org website, I'm still having difficulty finding a step-by-step article on how to migrate an existing Win 2K Domain Controller running Exchange 2000 to a different PC with newer hardware. How can I search for old email threads on this topic? Does anyone have practical experience performing the above operation? If so, I'd really appreciate learning about your experience with the migration. I've been asked by a friend to help him move an existing Windows 2000 Domain Controller running Exchange 2000 to another PC with better hardware. He wants to re-install the OS and Exchange on this new machine, but he would like to keep the same machine name, IP address, etc. So MX records, DNS, should not be a problem, I wouldn't think. I am currently supporting an Exchange Server 5.5 at work which runs on a Windows NT 4.0 Domain Controller. However, I have never used Exchange 2000. I've been researching on the Web and found the following article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;297289 Do any of you have other ideas, better solutions on how to do this? Perhaps a more step-by-step approach? Currently, my friend does not backup any of his mailboxes on the server. All mail resides on the server and is not downloaded to a *.pst file. What are the pitfalls? Any gotchas? Perhaps there are issues I have not yet anticipated. As a result, I thought I would drop a message to you, the "experts," for some advice on this!
