RE: FDoUpdateCatalog halted

The problem is that Exchange thinks it should be indexing but the service is
stopped.  So when it tries to index and finds the service stopped, it logs
this error. According to that KB and the desciption anyway.

You either need to start the service, else find out why the SP didn't
resolve the issue.

First time I've seen this on any of my Exchang servers.  
I read the MS Article on the topic but still not sure I understand the
problem or the resolution.
If I'm doing a full-index on the public share - why am I deleting it after I
create it?

Anyone want to elobrate on this error or fix?
