RE: [Exchangelist] AOL rejecting our messages

We resolved our problem with AOL. It did have to do with their new filtration
systems and one of our proxies running on netscape. We moved the function from
the netscape proxy to a new ISA proxy and all is working well.

Thanks.

Hey Julie,

I've read this article this morning and it sounds like it's related to your
problem

http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2003/05/01/Consumers/e-mailthreatened_030501

Quote from the article

"In a small sign that new filtration systems are working, AOL said it repelled
more than two billion spams in one day this week. In March, the company said it
prevented just over one billion spams a day from reaching its members' in-boxes
and is now able to block about 70 to 80 per cent the unsolicited e-mails. "

Seems like they might think your spamming them from some reason...call them and
get your machine \ domain off their list.

Pat

Yesterday, we started receiving this message anytime one of our users tries to
send to aol.com!
Nothing on our email server or relay/proxy server has changed, we have double &
triple checked our relay, and it is not open! It has never been open, and it
is not currently open! We had this same issue a few months back and it
mysteriously was resolved without any action by us within a day or two. This
time it has gone over 24 hrs and still not working.
Any suggestions ?

Thanks!

Julie Ohl
