A lot.  I've got at least 1000 concurrent OWA and RPC over HTTP
connections to a Dual P4 Xeon 2.8ghz with 3 gigs of RAM.  I'm also
pushing 100k pieces of mail in/out through that box and doing full SMTP
transport A/V scanning.

This box can handle way more then that.

I think the limitation is not really based on the application but rather
resources.
