I have seen this before, are you getting events that state timeout for
these services, if so I had the same thing and it was happening everyday
or so. I uninstalled RDP and the problem went away. I use VNC now to
remote to the server.

Subject: [exchangelist] Exchange services shutting down intermittently

We're running Exchange 2000 Enterprise on a Windows 2000 server. Small
office. Since Sunday last, some of our Exchange services, including WWW
publishing have been shutting themselves off. The services that go down
are: MS Exchange IMAP4, MSExchange Pop3, MS Exchange Routing Engine,
Simple Mail Transport Protocol,
World Wide Web Publishing Service.

Has anyone seen this before? Any thoughts on what might be causing it?
Anything to do with Symantec?
