I've certainly got some ideas how it could be done, but I'm curious how you
expect this to work? If the ISP's relay server is flaky, what does that
mean?

Subject: [exchangelist] Exchange as a 2ndary backup mail server

http://www.MSExchange.org/

Hi all,

Does anybody know how I can set up an Exchange 2000 server so that it
receives mail for a specified domain using a lower priority MX record, and
stores it until it is dequeued by another server? My ISP's service for this
has become very flaky, and I am trying to set this up with a colleague's own
exchange server hosted somewhere else so he can be my backup.

Thanks in advance,
Ajoy.
