Hi, Your backup software should be doing this...! The logs should be committed to your store once complete. If you are happy with your backup then delete them, I have a habit of leaving the last 5 by date, and the first 5. Just because I have had to get exchange setup information from the original logs when the customers have had a disaster... So the answer is yes. Cheers Brian >>> gatotdwi@xxxxxxxxxxxx 7/05/2003 2:56:10 pm >>> http://www.MSExchange.org/ Thanks for reply my email, I have 6443 files each 5,120 kb from E0000001 - E000192A (at C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\MDBDATA), I suspect that file fill up my C drive, can I delete those file, because already have pub1.edb 7GB, and because I am newbie here forgot to clearing the exchange logs, can you tell me the detail Thanks Gatot Dwi Wachyu -----Original Message----- From: Brian Harris [mailto:bharris@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, May 07, 2003 11:58 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Exchange Space http://www.MSExchange.org/ Hi, Is your backup software clearing the exchange logs down after each back up? Look at :- KB147524 cheers Brian >>> gatotdwi@xxxxxxxxxxxx 7/05/2003 1:53:07 pm >>> http://www.MSExchange.org/ Dear All, I have same problem with my space, I have 2 partition which is 40 GB each, after the public folder in my company run for 2 month the space used is growth in 39GB (free only 1GB) in C drive, but still 39 free in D drive, it is make slow for everybody, I already ask every user to delete the email in their inbox, outbox, sent item, etc. But still the free space 1GB, also in public folder we only store contacts, end when I export to personal folder is only took about 500 MB, and delete the content in public folder, it only make C drive free 1,5 GB. Where is the rest of it? From C drive My temporary solution I re partition the HD become c drive = 77 GB and d drive 3GB and its back to normal (to make improve from the speed) - I use win2000server sp3 and exchange2000 sp2 But I am afraid in the next 2 month it will fill up my HD space again. Any suggestion? I currently have a server with C:\ - 14 gig and D:\ 86 gig, I have done everything to move data across to d:\ to save space as I am running out of it. I have moved exchange log files & system path into my D:\ Now I still notice lost in space, I would like to move my mail store & public folder Exchange database & Exchange streaming database which would give me the required space. My question is what complications can arise from this move, and is it as simple as just clicking browse from Exchange Database and pointing it to a new location? Thanks!
