You're very right Otto, u need to register a domain name. If u have a dedicated Internet Link u can host ur mail server on the intranet by adding an MX record in your DNS pointing to your Mail server's A record. U can get an MX IP from your ISP or your Domain name provider. "Otto G. Holland" wrote:http://www.MSExchange.org/ This is a multi-part message in MIME format. Hi, I may not be an authority on the subject but my experience with Exchange 5.5 and 2000 is that a registered Domain name is the easiest way. You will then have the MX record and CNAME point to you IP address/Server. There are ways to have an Intranet server retrieve email from say a POP3 server then distribute the mail to the appropriate mail boxes. Hope someone with the experience will add his/her experience to the subject. Actually we don't have any default domain name register and I just create our domain name based on our organization name. Will it matter? Our exchange server is connected only to a proxy server which is 192.168.0.1. Will this be possible to retrieve emails from proxy server? I've noticed that I can't found any queue message in both SMTP or POP3. Is there something wrong with my configuration? Could you please help me out resolving this. SMTP Address: 192.168.0.1 POP3 Address: organization domain name(but no registered domain name ) regards, melvin --- "David N.
