John,
With all due respect to you and your experience, please do not post such
replies to anyone who is seeking help in the list. If you are tired or
not in a good mood, it is better to refrain from posting any replies
rather than posting such discouraging replies. I am not sure what is
bothering you, may be work pressure or any other personal problem. But I
think there are too many new comers in this list who will get
discouraged from posting to this list by seeing such responses. I my
self do not post too many replies as I do not get much time nowadays. I
am sorry if I had said something to hurt you. We all appreciate your
valued inputs to this forum.

Regards,

Raj

Give him a break? A break from what?

If I posted a question to the list for every error message I see in the
event log without first trying to find it on my own, I would be asking
those
kinds of questions a couple of times per week.

Yes, this forum is to help one another. The key word is help, not hold
you
by the hand and tell you want to do.

In school, the teacher (at least the good ones) teaches you how to
learn,
not give you the answers.

Like the old saying: Give a hungry man food, he will be hungry again
tomorrow. Teach him how to fish, he will eat every day.
