Exchange Front End - Back End Configuration

I want to implient OWA for internet users, and feel that the most secure
method is to have a front end architecture. This will offload the SSL
processing as well
Can both the exchange front and back servers both be on the LAN segment,
with a pix forwarding port 443 only to the front end server. The back end
server is not accessible from the internet
For example

WIll this configuration work?
