Thanks for the fast response.

I did try this but it just gives the "Jet Error JetErr_FileNotFound
error whilst opening the IS databases" message.

Any other thoughts?

Hey Andy,

ESEUTIL /g isn't everything you need. You also have to run ISinteg -fix
-alltests against your exchange database. I can't recall the entire
sentence, but you can check out the ISinteg help, it's easy.

Try running isinteg first. If Exch5.5 won't cooperate with you, show it
who's the boss ;)

You would have to create a new Information Store and restore the PST's
using exmerge. But I think it's much better running isinteg at this
time. It'll take a while, ok?

I've been asked to recover a Exchange 5.5 server which has had some of
the Exchange log files deleted by an anti virus package and they don't
have a backup!

Is this possible?

I ran eseutil /g against the private and public stores, and no errors
were reported. But when I try to start the information store I get "The
Microsoft Exchange Information Store service terminated with
service-specific error 4294965485" which is a file not found error.

Alternatively as they seem to keep most files locally in pst files
rebuilding it with a blank database wouldn't be too disastrous. What is
the easiest way of doing this?

TIA

Andy
