Hi, I'm a new member. My name is Ralf Hornik and I work as a systems administrator in munic. Now I've got that Problem: My company uses exchange 5.5 for internal e-mail traffic and sendmail as gateway for internet mail. If I use outlook in connection with MS Exchange 5.5 Internet Mail Service it works fine. But whenever I set up a server mailbox using the MSExchange settings on outlook and I want to send an e-mail to the Internet the mail returnes with the following report: > Reporting-MTA: dns; pbcom1.lprz.com ### Mailgateway ### > Received-From-MTA: DNS; mucmx.lprz.loyaltypartner.com ### Exchangeserver #### > Arrival-Date: Fri, 22 Mar 2002 17:34:02 +0100 > Final-Recipient: RFC822; IMCEASMTP-rhornik+40web+2Ede@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ### that should be rhornik@xxxxxx ### > Action: failed > Status: 5.1.2 > Remote-MTA: DNS; 192.168.26.13 > Diagnostic-Code: SMTP; 550 Host unknown ## why ??? ### > Last-Attempt-Date: Fri, 22 Mar 2002 17:34:03 +0100 > Received: from pbcom1.lprz.com (pbcom1.lprz.loyaltypartner.com [192.168.26.13]) > by mucmx.lprz.loyaltypartner.com with SMTP (Microsoft Exchange Internet Mail Service Version 5.5.2653.13) > id H32JCCYK; Fri, 22 Mar 2002 17:34:15 +0100 > Received: from localhost (localhost) > by pbcom1.lprz.com (8.11.3/8.11.3/SuSE Linux 8.11.1-0.5) id g2MGY3627454; > Fri, 22 Mar 2002 17:34:03 +0100 > Date: Fri, 22 Mar 2002 17:34:03 +0100 > From: Mail Delivery Subsystem <MAILER-DAEMON@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Message-Id: <200203221634.g2MGY3627454@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: <Ralf@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > MIME-Version: 1.0 > Content-Type: multipart/report; report-type=delivery-status; > boundary="g2MGY3627454.1016814843/pbcom1.lprz.com" > Subject: Returned mail: see transcript for details > Auto-Submitted: auto-generated (failure) > > This is a MIME-encapsulated message > --g2MGY3627454.1016814843/pbcom1.lprz.com > > --g2MGY3627454.1016814843/pbcom1.lprz.com > Content-Type: message/delivery-status > > --g2MGY3627454.1016814843/pbcom1.lprz.com > Content-Type: message/rfc822 > Return-Path: <Ralf@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Received: from mucmx.lprz.loyaltypartner.com (mucmx.lprz.loyaltypartner.com [10.51.11.232]) > by pbcom1.lprz.com (8.11.3/8.11.3/SuSE Linux 8.11.1-0.5) with ESMTP id g2MGY2627448 > for <IMCEASMTP-rhornik+40web+2Ede@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>; > Fri, 22 Mar 2002 17:34:02 +0100 > Received: by mucmx.lprz.loylatypartner.com )### that is the wrong name!!! #### > with Internet Mail Service (5.5.2653.19 id <H32JCCYJ>; Fri, 22 Mar 2002 17:34:14 +0100 > Message-ID: <2A6587908D1ACD4D8F14CFF2A1204D402C13@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > From: Ralf <Ralf@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: "'rhornik@xxxxxx'" <rhornik@xxxxxx> > Subject: test von mucmx > Date: Fri, 22 Mar 2002 17:34:13 +0100 > MIME-Version: 1.0 > X-Mailer: Internet Mail Service (5.5.2653.19) > Content-Type: multipart/alternative; > boundary="----_=_NextPart_001_01C1D1BF.66E8DC20" > I didn't find where to change the wrong DNS name. Why is the address of the recipient changed? (rhornik@xxxxxx=IMCEASMTP-rhornik+40web+2Ede@192.168.26.13) I think that is the reason for returning mails. Thanx for your help regards Ralf Hornik
