One of our Exchange server's IS appears to lock and prevented users from
accessing the server. It also appeared to take the DS along with it, as we
were unable to attach to it via the Exchange Admin console. A reboot has
resolved the problem, and it started with no errors or issues.

However, I did notice a specific error message logged into the Application
log:

Event Type: Error

Event Source: MSExchangeES

Event Category: General

Event ID: 7

Date: 6/11/2002

Time: 2:01:00 PM

User: N/A

Computer: MVO_NRT_EXCH3

Description:

An unexpected error [0x80040115] occurred in maintenance thread.

Has anyone seen this error message? Does anyone know what might have caused
this?

I looked for this on EVENTID.NET, and did find one link, but to a KB article
that didn't apply to us, Q275602
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q275602).

This Exchange server is running Windows NT 4 Enterprise with Service Pack
6a. Exchange is running Service Pack 4. We are also running McAfee
GroupShield 4.5 with MR1a (not my choice, but that's what I have to work
with). The server hardware is a Dell PowerEdge 6450 with dual PIII 900MHz
ZEON cpu's with 4GB of RAM. Yes, we do have the /3GB switch in the boot.ini
arcpath.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
