Sounds like standard should do me then. I'll be using two, non-clustered
servers in a single organisation, with mailbox resources shared between
the
two. Data stores will be on my SAN. Presumably each server will have
its'
own databases? As you can tell, I'm pretty new to all this. I've used
multiple Ex 5.5 servers for migration purposes in the past but that was
a
while ago.

You can use either standard or enterprise for having more than one
server per Exchange organization.
Basically:
If you are going to do clustering, you need enterprise.
If you need the X.400 connector, you need enterprise.
If you need multiple mailstores per server, you need enterprise.
If you need a mailstore larger than 75 GB, you need enterprise.
Otherwise, standard should do just fine.

I am looking at replacing an old clustered Exchange 5.5 server
(active/passive) with a pair of Exchange 2003 servers with the mailbox

other resources split between them. To have more than one server in a

organistaional unit, do I need the standard or Enterprise edition of
2003?
The comparison on the MS website doesn't make it clear (to me at least -
I'm
not a mail specialist).
