if this is a DNS issue then it needs to be corrected. SA needs to locate the GC
otherwise it will not start. There is no workaround. run a NETDIAG and a DCDIAG
and get a clean report. If its not clean then its difficult to start the SA.
See in your DSACCESS ( directory access TAB on the server properties and make
sure the GC's are discovered as well as the DC's

Subject: [exchangelist] Exchange 2003 not connecting after domain migration

  http://www.MSExchange.org/

i have an exchange 2003 up and running on windows 2000 domain.

i upgraded the domain to windows 2003 on the same hardware. After the domain
upgrade the exchange services doesnt start, i.e. the system attendent service
fails to start. I know this is due to the DNS. Is there any workaround for this.

Earlier i did the domain migration on the different hardware by installing an
Additional DC and promoting to DC and transferring all the 5 FSMO. even in this
situation the exchange services didnt came up.

i am in an hanging position, need to have exchange running on new domain ASAP

  regards

  shoeb
