Another potential option: Google Calendar. Easy on the part of the 'sharer' via google calendar sync. A bit less convenient on the part of the 'sharee' as they probably need to go to the web to check on free/busy info. I don;t know that there is a great solution to allow free/busy lookups across the two platforms, yet.

An example of how this works well on an individual basis, though, is what I am doing now. I have an Exchange mailbox/calendar with my client, another with my firm, and a google calendar. I use the google calendar as a go-between for both Exchange systems, keeping all three in sync.

A bit kludgey but free and works very well.

On a per uses basis you can use Outlook 2007 and office.microsoft.com to share F/B with external users.

I am sure a lot of people would be interested in this as well. A lot of company's now outsource and it is difficult to know if someone is busy or away when trying to schedule a meeting. If anyone has suggestions I would be interested as well!
