Were you trying to open the items from OWA or fro Outlook?
I am just trying to narrow it down.

Hello,
I have a problem with exchange2000. My server went down. It was brought
back up with no loss of data. Yet I can not open new mail. I can see the
mail, but not view it in the preview pane or by opening it. Any
suggestions on how to resolve this would be a great help.
