MessageDear Koray ,
Maybe you can post your software and h/w configuration here, I tried to
configure like yours oneday but lack of experience make me cancel everything. I
believe some us (at least I do) want to try to use MCS but just don't know
where to start.

  Juan,
We are using two PE2650 with a PowerVault220S using Microsoft clusters. The
conf. switch on PV is configured for cluster usage. Exchange services are
running on cluster and if one server fails, the second one takes over almost
instantly without a need of interaction. And when the initial server is up
again, the services are transferred back onto it automatically again. It is
working just fine. I may provide you more information about software and HW
configuration if you need any.
The good thing is, we are using the second server for other purposes as well,
and the two servers are backing up each other in case of failure. They are up
and running since 8 months now and we needed several failovers for mainentance
purposes and had no problem until now.

Hi, we are thinking on upgrading Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000 within the
next few months.

Right now we have a offline, hotspare configuration. Meaning that if our
primary server fails, we bring the other on online and just copy the logs over,
after doing a daily restore that is.

I am looking into the possibility of creating a cluster environment
instead, with new HW. I am sure many of you have this at your shops. Basically,
what I'd lie to do is have two servers attached to an external raid array.
Can you please give me some pointer as to what HW you guys recommend or use. We
currently use mostly Dell Power Edge servers here.

    Thanks in advance.
    Juan
