Thanks, I'll give that a shot. I'll let ya know how it turns out! --Kenny Mann -----Original Message----- From: paul_lemonidis@xxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:paul_lemonidis@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, May 19, 2003 1:19 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Exchange 2000 Freezing http://www.MSExchange.org/ Hi Kenny Your problem is probably the Norton AV. Firstly it will be a big drain on your system resources given your server hardware. Secondly if you do not skip the Exchange Directories you will have many problems including possible database corruption. See TechNet article 245822. I think that will make things clearer. I would suggest upgrading your processing power as soon as possible. Hope that helps. Get back to me if I can help further. Bye for now. I attempt to restart the service for IMAP (for example) and Windows 2000 freezes for a while and then says that the service can not be stopped but it will continue to try. The same thing happens with other Exchange services as well. The hardware is a Compaq Proliant ML330 G2 w/ 2GB of ECC memory. We have about 40-50 users, about 5 who use email all the time. It currently only has one processor @ 1.13 ghz. Do you think that the computer is under powered? If you would like more information, I would be happy to give it out. --Kenny Mann ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: jetterman@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') _____ The information contained in this email is confidential and is intended only for the person identified and intended as the receipient.
