Marvin, when did this error start happening? Have you made any configuration changes recently? Is Exchange Server running with a local system account or a service account? Have you found any other event errors or warnings, this info is very useful. -----Original Message----- From: Marvin Cummings [mailto:marvc@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Jueves, 22 de Agosto de 2002 01:18 p.m. To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Event ID 5007 errors preventing Exchange 2000 server services from starting http://www.MSExchange.org/ OK I'm still at a loss and still getting these error. I'm unable to receive any mail on this server. Can anyone point me to another method for troubleshooting this? -----Original Message----- From: Dolly Bareqet [mailto:dolly@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, August 22, 2002 10:24 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Event ID 5007 errors preventing Exchange 2000 server services from starting http://www.MSExchange.org/ Do not delete anything. Look in your registry at: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControSet\Services\MSExchangeSA/LogDire ctory\Parameters\LogDirectory And look if the tracking. log is there with the right path -----Original Message----- From: Marvin Cummings [mailto:marvc@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, August 22, 2002 2:28 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Event ID 5007 errors preventing Exchange 2000 server services from starting http://www.MSExchange.org/ Excusing my lack of knowledge in this area of Exchange management, but this is what I gather from the article: 1. I navigate to the "exchsrvr" directory on my server and locate the "\myexchangeserver.log". A. In this log I see files dated for 8\14 - 8\21. B. This file is shared as "exchsrvr.log" and commented as "Exchange message tracking logs". The "Everyone" group is assigned the "Read & Execute", "List Folder Contents", and "Read" permissions. C. I open ADSI and locate the "msExchDataPath" value and see that the value is listed as D:\Program Files\Exchsrvr. 2. Am I to delete this file, myexchserver.log, and create another one with the same name and permissions? 3. Navigate to ADSI, locate msExchDataPath, and: A. Enter a new attribute, D:\Program Files\Exchsrvr or B. leave as is? Any response is appreciated -----Original Message----- From: Dolly Bareqet [mailto:dolly@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, August 22, 2002 8:29 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Event ID 5007 errors preventing Exchange 2000 server services from starting http://www.MSExchange.org/ Go to: http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=5007&source= -----Original Message----- From: Marvin Cummings [mailto:marvc@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, August 22, 2002 1:15 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Event ID 5007 errors preventing Exchange 2000 server services from starting http://www.MSExchange.org/ I'm running Exchange 2000 server w/SP2. -----Original Message----- From: Dolly Bareqet [mailto:dolly@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, August 22, 2002 8:13 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Event ID 5007 errors preventing Exchange 2000 server services from starting http://www.MSExchange.org/ Exchange Version Please -----Original Message----- From: Marvin Cummings [mailto:marvc@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, August 22, 2002 12:11 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] Event ID 5007 errors preventing Exchange 2000 server services from starting http://www.MSExchange.org/ Can anyone assist me with a problem I'm having where none of my Exchange services will start due to Event ID 5007. Here are some of the errors I'm getting: Description: An error occurred during the message tracking decode operation. Function ScOpen: <<0x0070005 - Access is denied>> Description: An error occurred during the message tracking decode operation error. from file: i:\admin\src\libs\rpc\rwlog.cxx line: 576 <<0x0070005 - Access is denied>> Description: An error occurred during the message tracking decode operation. Function ScSaveGatewayTrackingDataEx. <<0x0070005 - Access is denied>> I attempted to check the mxExchDataPath in ADSI, according to article Q288362, but this doesn't seem to be related since the value is already set to D:\program files\exchsrvr. Not sure how else to troubleshoot this. As of right now, none of my services are started. Rebooting the server doesn't appear to help. Any help is appreciated. Note: I'd been sending and recieving mail fine up until early this morning. I also changed my user account password, but not the exchange account password. Not sure if this is related, but thought I'd throw that in. ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: dolly@xxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: marvc@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: dolly@xxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: marvc@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: dolly@xxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: marvc@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: jedanoviz@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
