If it doesn't stop after about 2 hours, I would think that you are going
to have to do so.

No, and no. I was hoping I wouldn't have to bring down email.

Is the provider still in AD? Did you restart SA?

Greetings all. Running Exchange 2003 on Windows 2000 server. I've been
getting the following errors in the Application event viewer:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSExchangeSA
Event Category: General
Event ID: 2035
Date: 8/2/2005
Time: 10:20:31 AM
User: N/A
Computer: EXCHANGE
Description:
The e-mail address description object in the Microsoft Exchange
directory for the 'FAXSR' address type on 'i386' machines is missing.
For more information, click
http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSExchangeAL
Event Category: Service Control
Event ID: 8231
Date: 8/2/2005
Time: 10:20:31 AM
User: N/A
Computer: EXCHANGE
Description:
Permanent failure reported by policy group provider for 'CN=Recipient
Policies,CN=My Company,CN=Microsoft
Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=mydomain,DC=com':'MAD.EXE',
error=8000ffff. Taking provider offline.
For more information, click
http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.

I did some searching and found http://support.microsoft.com/?id=286356
and performed option 2: Remove the invalid or unwanted address type from
all recipient policies. After doing this, I'm still getting the errors
in the event viewer. Does anyone have any further suggestions?
