What flavor of firewall?

You (just shy of saying) MUST have a firewall.

How is the firewall configured?

Is it acting as a proxy?

It is not a PIX with the SMTP fixup enabled is it?

That is a possible server problem:

       X.5.4 Invalid command arguments

A valid mail transaction protocol command was issued with
invalid arguments, either because the arguments were out of
range or represented unrecognized features. This is useful
          only as a permanent error.

However, everything here looks fine:

[x] looking up peopleschoicecable.com in HOSTS and MX

Trying peopleschoicecable.com (0)

However, if I try to telnet to your server, I get a could not open

Is this server behind a firewall?
