It could, if you look in ESM and look at his mailbox how many items does it say he has in it. I cannot tell if deleting his mailbox will cause a problem or not, potentially you could loose all his mail. So check his profile as well. The pst file is set to deliver emails to his profile. He has a bunch of pc's setup around the country and depends heavily on his note book. Last week he called me and said his emails have disappeared... And he wants it fixed yesterday... I figured that a pc in one of his many offices was downloading the POP3 emails. I set it to leave a copy on the server and also turned it off, even though the account is set to forward emails to the exchange server. This didn't seem to solve the issue... He still cant get his emails once he opens his outlook he can see all the emails but then they start disappearing one after the other... Everybody is now screaming at me though this doesn't happen to anyone else through out the corporate. Please Comrades help resolve this issue. Stressed Leonard -----Original Message----- From: Jared Johnson [mailto:jaredsjazz@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Saturday, April 24, 2004 11:03 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Emails disappearing from the Inbox http://www.MSExchange.org/ Most likely they are being forwarded to a .PST archive file. Go into setup on the client and see where the "default email locatoin" is set to. Of course it should be set to the persons exchange email box. However, many times it gets mistakenly set to sending email to the .PST archive file on the machine. So, you would see it for a second in the inbox as normal, and the suddenly it disappears, just as you described. Check for .PST files.. --- Dee Arnold <Deea@xxxxxxxx> wrote: > http://www.MSExchange.org/ > > > This is a multi-part message in MIME format. > > Have you messed with any settings? > See > http://weblogs.asp.net/kclemson/archive/2003/12/23/45482.aspx > for a > "laugh" > > ________________________________ > > From: Leonard [mailto:lmwangi@xxxxxxxxx] > Sent: Sat 4/24/2004 11:07 AM > To: [ExchangeList] > Subject: [exchangelist] Emails disappearing from the Inbox > > > > http://www.MSExchange.org/ > > Hello Everyone > > I have a weird issue that I can explain and need help. > > I have a Merak mail server that's forwarding emails to the exchange > 2003 server (Primary mail server). > One of the users emails are disappearing after he opens the Outlook > client which is synchronized with exchange. > > The weird part is you see outlook download emails from the server into > the inbox then the emails start disappearing one by one!! > > I have (Merak mail server)POP3 accounts set to only send and not to > receive on this users pc. > > Please help > > > Thanks > > ------------------------------------------------------ > List Archives: > http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist > Exchange Newsletters: > http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp > Exchange FAQ: > http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ > ------------------------------------------------------ > Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: > Leading Network Software Directory: > http://www.serverfiles.com > No.1 ISA Server Resource Site: > http://www.isaserver.org > Windows Security Resource Site: > http://www.windowsecurity.com/ > Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax > Solutions: > http://www.ntfaxfaq.com > ------------------------------------------------------ > > > > ############################################################################ ######### > Only the individual sender is responsible for the content of the > message, and the message does not necessarily reflect the position or > policy of the Texas State Teachers Association or its affiliates. > > ATTACHMENT part 3 application/ms-tnef name=winmail.dat > ------------------------------------------------------ > List Archives: > http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist > Exchange Newsletters: > http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp > Exchange FAQ: > http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ > ------------------------------------------------------ > Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: > Leading Network Software Directory: > http://www.serverfiles.com > No.1 ISA Server Resource Site: > http://www.isaserver.org > Windows Security Resource Site: > http://www.windowsecurity.com/ > Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax > Solutions: > http://www.ntfaxfaq.com > ------------------------------------------------------ > __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
