Duplicate Accounts

I am in desperate need of some help here.  After a lengthy restoration of
our exchange db, we finally have got the mailstore service to run and the
db to mount.  However, listed under Mailboxes in the mail store are two
accounts listed for the same user.  Also, if I send mail to a user, a new
mailbox will be created to the exchange db, even though they already have

Is there any way to assign the original account to the users?

Help would be greatly appreciated.
