Thanks Raj, I have already tried this out but it didn't work. I think the
reason is, that the GAL information is stored on the Exchange server while
the Contact information is stored in outlook.pst. But I need to get the
information from the Exchange Server...

You can use the field chooser in Outlook, and select All Contacts fields option, and select Department.

Hello experts,
for every incoming email I want to display certain information (i.e. department of the sender) in a field in the Outlook Inbox pane bar. This information is stored in the GAL. Is there a way to link the field in the pane bar with the corresponding data?
