So which would be beneficial?

By sending mails with Individual addresses or DL?

Though its tedious job to send to individual users.

What's the benefit of having DL email address apart from writing the
recipients addresses?

Is there any major difference in terms of efficiency of message
delivery?

Which process would deliver message faster?

At what level expanding of the group takes place?

Regards,

Usha

For 10 members, the performance impact is unlikely to be noticable.

For 1,000 members, the performance impact could start to be felt.

A group has to be expanded before email can be delivered. Obviously,
this has some performance impact. However, Exchange has quite efficient
caching mechanisms (some would say too efficient) that ameliorate the
impact of this on active directory.

There are companies (Microsoft themselves comes to mind) where some
distribution lists contain tens-of-thousands of entries. Exchange can
certainly do the job.

Hi All,

If I do following activities:

Sending mails to a Distribution list having 10 members?

      And

Sending mail by putting those 10 users in TO/CC list.

I have following question??

Is there any performance enhancement in sending or receiving the mail if
you compare both activities?

Is there any difference in sense of routing the mail to all these users?

Is there any different in GAL Lookup?

Regards

Kanwaljeet
