Defraging EDB files

Hi gang!

When I check the size of our EDB files in the MBDATA folder on our Ex2k/Win2k
server, it's telling me my Priv.edb file is just over 12Gigs. But when I check
the Event Viewer for the online defrag that runs nightly, it's telling me I
only have 270megs of space free in the mailbox store. So, I'm assuming I
better run a offline defrag SOON before my Exchange database reaches its 16 gig
limit.

I have to admit, I'm real nervous running the offline defrag and just want to
make sure I have the correct command before running the offline defrag. Just
so you know,
I don't have enough disk space on the same drive that Exchange is on.

In Exchange System Manager, right-click the information store that you want to
defragment, and then click Dismount Store.

At the command prompt, change to the Exchsrvr\Bin folder

To defrag the priv.edb, enter the following;

eseutil /d /p "e:\exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv.edb" /t"f:\tempdfg.edb"

If there's anything else I should be aware or concerned about, please let me
know.

TIA,
Mike
