Devon, We had this problem very often, the RUS will stop updating email addresses for objects all of a sudden. I spoke to MS Tech and they were not able to figure out a reason. The only way I could get around is by restarting the System Attendant service, this is effectively restarting all your Exchange services. The moment SA is restarted, all objects get updated, and RUS works for a week or 2 before it stops again. However, Since we installed new servers, I have moved the RUS to an Exchange 2000 server with SP3. Since then it has been stable. Earlier the problems occurred with SP2. If you dont want to do that then pls check for exception in existing policy. This only happens sometimes, to some recipients and all the time to all 'Universal Distribution Groups' and Public Folders. The email addresses doesn't get updated, even when the box 'Automatically update e-mail addresses based on recipient policy' is checked. Anyone know why this is happening? -Devon -----Original Message----- From: Devon Harding - GTHLA Sent: Wednesday, April 30, 2003 10:50 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] DL & email addresses http://www.MSExchange.org/ For some reason, when I create a Universal Distribution list in Exchange 2000, it doesn't obtain an email address. It has the 'Automatically update e-mail addresses based on recipient policy" box checked. Even when I go to 'Recipient Update Service' and click 'Update Now' or 'Rebuild', it still doesn't update the DL with an email address. When I create recipients, however, they get an email address within 5 mins. How can I fix this? _____________________ Devon Harding System Administrator Gilat Latin America 954-858-1600 dharding@xxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:dharding@xxxxxxxxxxxx> This e-mail is intended for the above named addressee(s), and may contain information which is confidential or privileged.
