I've updated the server to SP3 tried creating multiple RUS for each DC.
Nothing works. All I did was create a simple 'Universal Distribution
Group', Update and Rebuilt the RUS and no SMTP or X400 address are created.
I've waited two days, and nothing. What could be wrong?

Devon,
We had this problem very often, the RUS will stop updating email
addresses for objects all of a sudden. I spoke to MS Tech and they were
not able to figure out a reason. The only way I could get around is by
restarting the System Attendant service, this is effectively restarting
all your Exchange services. The moment SA is restarted, all objects get
updated, and RUS works for a week or 2 before it stops again. However,
Since we installed new servers, I have moved the RUS to an Exchange 2000
server with SP3. Since then it has been stable. Earlier the problems
occurred with SP2.

Regards,
Raj

What is the Recipient Policy filter supposed to look like based on a
specific site in an org?

Devon,

I would recommend that you recreate your Recipient Policy. If you dont
want
to do that then pls check for exception in existing policy.

I've looked everywhere, and cannot figure out why DL and some recipients
are
not being updated by the RUS. Can anyone tell me where else to look?

The RP hasn't changed. This only happens sometimes, to some recipients
and
all the time to all 'Universal Distribution Groups' and Public Folders.
How
can log changes to the Recipient Update Service?

Has anyone played around with your Recipient Policy and excluded Groups
and
PF's from the policy?

This also happens when I create Public Folders. The email addresses
doesn't
get updated, even when the box 'Automatically update e-mail addresses
based
on recipient policy' is checked.

Anyone know why this is happening?

For some reason, when I create a Universal Distribution list in Exchange
2000, it doesn't obtain an email address. It has the 'Automatically
update
e-mail addresses based on recipient policy" box checked. Even when I go
to
'Recipient Update Service' and click 'Update Now' or 'Rebuild', it still
doesn't update the DL with an email address. When I create recipients,
however, they get an email address within 5 mins. How can I fix this?
