What registry key? -----Original Message----- From: Shevill, Mark M SITI-ITDSEC44 [mailto:Mark.Shevill@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, November 21, 2002 10:52 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Clustering Exchange http://www.MSExchange.org/ That registry key frees up the memory. So in this case when the first server went down the memory would be freed up so that the second server doesn't Mark Shevill IMG Messaging Technical Lead Shell Information Technology International Limited Rowlandsway, Wythenshawe, Manchester M22 5SB, United Kingdom Tel: +44 161 935 7152 Email: Mark.M.Shevill@xxxxxxxxx Internet: http://www.shell.com -----Original Message----- From: Callan, Chris [mailto:CCallan@xxxxxxxx] Sent: 21 November 2002 15:46 To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Clustering Exchange http://www.MSExchange.org/ What we were told by MS was that E2k when it writes to memory does not do it in a sequential order. I.E. it doesn't go 1 2 3 4. It instead goes 4 2 8 10. And say if one of your servers goes down. and it is using 4 2 8 10 and the server that is still up and running is using say 3 6 7 10 then that will cause the running server to crash because they were both using 10 and if one server is already using that memory the second server can't use it. That's what I have been told. . -----Original Message----- From: Periyasamy, Raj [mailto:Raj.Periyasamy@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, November 21, 2002 10:37 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Clustering Exchange http://www.MSExchange.org/ Chris, We are running Exch 2000 Active/Active cluster with no problems. What kind of problems did MS refer to with Active/active cluster ? We are going to explore the possibility to go to this, but I wanted to get some opinions on it first.
