Hi Erhard Its actually Mark, but no problem :-) You need to carry out the steps on one of your Windows 2003 DC's and then give it time to replicate to all your other DC's Make sure you load the ADSIEDIT from the Windows 2003 Support tools not the Windows 2000 ADSIEDIT, then open ADSIEDIT, expand Configuration > Configuration > DisplaySpecifiers > click on CN=409 > right click over CN=user-Display and open the properties > in the list of attributes scroll down until you see createDialog, click on it and select Edit type in the syntax as I detailed in the article and then click on OK, now come out of ADSIEDIT. ADModify should work the same with Windows 2003 as it did with Windows 2000 Hope this helps Mark Fugatt MCT, MCSE, Microsoft Exchange MVP Pentech Office Solutions Inc Tel: 585 586 3890 Cell: 585 576 4750 Fax: 585 249 0316 www.4mcts.com www.exchangetrainer.com -----Original Message----- From: Erhard Haniffa [mailto:erhardhaniffa@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, August 13, 2003 5:21 PM To: [ExchangeList] http://www.MSExchange.org/ Hi all, This message is actually for Mike Fugatt the nice guy who wrote that article with almost the same heading. What we have is a Windows 2003 network with exchange 2000 on a win2k server that is just a member of the domain. I want to change the display order as instructed in Mike's document but I installed the new server tools that come with 2003 server and ADSIEDIT is a little differnet when I try to follow the instructions. Can someone help me with this. I want to change the display of addresses on the server to last name, first name. thanks Ed ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: mark@xxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
