Thanks Raj,

Ok, now that you've mentioned the path I can say that the RGM was
changed and my new box has been set as master for some time now.
The new box serves as DC and Exchange server and meant to be a stand
alone mail server. I have turned GC on and off in my various attempts at
full success.

When I turn off the first box folks get a network error that they can't
find the mail server. All clients are pointed to the new server and
their mail resides on that server.

Thanks for your patience and insight.

Chris,
To change the Routing Group Master, Go to Admin Group - Routing Groups -
RGNAME - Members - Right click on the new server to be assigned as RG
Master and selecte Set as Master.

Is this a standalone Exchange Server or DC/GC/Exchange server ? What
problems do you notice when you shutdown the first server ?

Regards,

Raj

Hi Raj,

That link is the exact document I am following for procedure. All
replication is configured and in sync. I don't have any connectors and
not sure of the routing master, couldn't seem to find that setting, the
RUS has been changed as well.

Chris,

Have you replicated all System public folders ?
Have you changed the Routing Group Master ?
Have you rehomed all connectors ?
Have you changed RUS server?

Refer to the following link,

Raj

Hi all,

I moved my Exchange 2000 server from the original box to a new one. I
rehomed and replicated everything I can think of, but if I shut down the
original box our email doesn't work. I'm stumped, is there an AD change
I need to make?
