XP Home edition is not designed to be used in AD. It is not able to join a domain by design. That is why M$ has two versions, one for home use (non-networked environment) and XP Pro which is designed for networks. You user is not connected to the network as you suggested, they are only logging on to their laptop. The only way that they will be able to get their mail is through OWA. -----Original Message----- From: Gene O'Brien [mailto:Gene@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, May 28, 2003 8:25 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Cannot send message from Outlook http://www.MSExchange.org/ Windows XP Home Edition can't log on to an Active Directory Domain (or any domain, for that matter). Is signing on to the domain a requirement for getting mail in your environment? -----Original Message----- From: Vijeya kumar K [mailto:vijey@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, May 28, 2003 5:02 AM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Cannot send message from Outlook http://www.MSExchange.org/ It is inside the firewall.
